Adrijana Husić from Communication Studio Cassiopeia reminded that Montenegrin Colouring Book was created in the middle of May this year, through three editions – Podgorica, Cetinje, and Boka Bay.

“In July, two new colouring books were published – The Portrayal of Montenegro and Wonders of Montenegro, when together with Pobjeda Newspaper and Portonovi Resort, we gave citizens 3.5 thousand copies of the Portrayal of Montenegro Colouring Book,” said Husić.

She said that they weren’t expecting such success.

Husić said that Wonders of Montenegro Colouring book will have the second edition in September through cooperation with Pobjeda Newspaper and Portonovi Resort. “Tomorrow with Pobjeda Newspaper, 3.5 thousand copies of Wonders of Montenegro, on the occasion of celebrating 30-year-anniversary since Montenegro was pronounced an ecological state,” said Husić.

She said that for them summer didn’t imply vacation, but work on new colouring books, that is, editions in the English language. “During summer we worked on the English editions of the colouring books the Portrayal of Montenegro, Wonders of Montenegro, and Boka Bay. We were preparing the last two editions that were published in September. The editions in question are Birds and Forests of Montenegro, created in cooperation with the NGO Center for Protection and Research of Birds of Montenegro,” said Husić.

As she said, the best thing about colouring books is that the youngest looked forward the most, and they were initially intended for them. “There was a good reaction from the adults too, so almost everyone is taking part in colouring now. Parents, grandmas, grandpas,” she pointed out.

According to her, colouring books are made of illustration as well as a short story through which one meets Montenegro, its beauty, culture, tradition, and history. Husić emphasized that they already have ideas for holiday editions, so they are continuing the cycle, although, after five months, there are already seven different colouring books in Montenegro. “We are delighted that different companies are interested in adapting the colouring books, so we have four special editions,” said Husić.

She said that colouring books are available at 40 locations, and they constantly get feedback. “Through Montenegrin Colouring Book Instagram and Facebook Page, we communicate with the youngest and with adults who send us coloured pages, comments, and interesting stories,” said Husić.

According to her, working on colouring books is demanding. “It requires a lot of research, including various people to contribute. We really try to make the materials educational, as well as fun,” she pointed out.

As she explained, it is a big challenge for Zombijana to make drawings of everything they imagined. Husić said that come up with short stories that lead into bigger stories the youngest can hear from adults, to explore.

“For us adults, colouring books are reminders of everything Montenegro is, and why we should care and look after it more,” said Husić.
