Podgorica, (MINA) – New editions of Montenegrin Colouring Books, dedicated to birds and forests, will be available in around 40 bookstores and shops in Montenegro next week.

The first Montenegrin Colouring Books, dedicated to monuments and the most beautiful places in Podgorica, Cetinje, Herceg Novi, Kotor, and Tivat were published in May, and in June there were two new editions, about Montenegro and its wonders.

Adrijana Husić from Communication Studio Cassiopeia, which is the project creator of the Montenegrin Colouring Books, said that the great interest the colouring books generated was additional motivation to work on new editions.

“In addition to new colouring books we will publish next week, we are working on new editions, and we always try to bring something new. That is why these two books dedicated to birds and forests of Montenegro, were published as a bilingual edition, in Montenegrin and the English language,” said Husić for MINA agency. She added that the two editions were made in cooperation with the NGO Center for Protection and Research of Birds of Montenegro (CZIP).

Husić said that they are slowly preparing for the end of the year with new editions to welcome the holidays. They are also preparing a gift for the upcoming 20th anniversary since Montenegro was pronounced an ecological state. “We are really trying to make as many colouring books reach as many kids and adults as possible in Montenegro every month,” said Husić.

She explained that initially, colouring books were intended for the youngest, but they caused a great interest of those a bit older, which was an encouragement to broaden the future editions. “Now they are fun for the entire family, which was our goal from the beginning, to explore, draw and colour while the youngest get to know Montenegro, its towns, monuments and beauty, but also to learn more, get new information with the help of the adults,” explained Husić.

She added that often, via the social media networks, they receive supportive comments and praise for the idea to make a Montengrin Colouring Book, its adaptation to the youngest, as well as the content which wasn’t previously done in Montenegro. “We found it very interesting when we heard that children in kindergartens recognize certain things from colouring books when they see them on field trips and connect them back to drawings when they return,” said Husić.

She reminded that all colouring books so far were published in thousand copies, except for four thousand copies that were given as gifts with Pobjeda Newspaper on 13th July. “We are particularly happy that Podgorica edition has already got the second edition after only two months on the market,” said Husić, and announced that the edition in honour of 30 years since Monenegro was pronounced an ecological state, also be printed in four thousand copies.

The project of Montenegrin Colouring Books is run by five women gathered in Communication Studio Cassiopeia, and more detailed info can be found on the website crnogorskabojanka.me.
