The Story About the Beginning of Colouring Books – Montenegro in a Million Colours
Like all the most beautiful stories in life, this one began spontaneously, during the lockdown due to coronavirus. When we used to find countless ways to fill our children’s days, all the while excluding phones and TV from the equation. Everything started from a certain Tijana, her efforts to separate her kids from the screen, as well as her ability to recognize that there is no interesting content about Montenegro in the form of colouring books.
From an early age, they teach us that together we are stronger. Women behind this colourful project would add that together we are also more creative. Each of us is unique in her own way, both with our interests and different roles with children – as mothers, aunts, godmothers, and that was our reason to focus on the youngest. Inspired by what we’re surrounded with and determined in the intention to make our project above all else, educational, but in a different way.
Children deserve to have available content made in Montenegro connected with the treasure located in it and presented in an original and at the same time fun and educational manner. We want children to know that they can leave their mark, to encourage them to create and be what they are – little wizards who change the world! For us adults, this was a reminder not to forget the child within ourselves, to have fun, and keep exploring.
We believe that stories and illustrations that make up the first Montenegrin Colouring Books, in addition to being fun and educational, also remind us how rich and exciting a history we have. They are reminders that we have a significant role in preserving the best and the most beautiful we have, not only for ourselves but for generations to come.
We paint Montenegro in various colours and meet it through stories and legends that are meant to be shared so that we would love it even more. We want every main character to take your hand and pull you into its colourful world, you to keep coming back to us to explore Montenegro, the ever-lasting inspiration.
